FULL SERVICE MOVING

Even the shortest of moves may require a full-service move.
Whether you do not want to do the heavy lifting yourself or just don’t have the time for it, finding the right mover to relocate all your possessions is not impossible if you take some time to research movers.

DON’T AUTOMATICALLY GO WITH THE CHEAPEST MOVER

In an effort to save money, some people will automatically take the least expensive moving service, figuring they’re coming out ahead in the long run. While that may sound good, it can also lead to problems. Make sure you get what you pay for. Ways to go about this include:
  • Checklist

    Ask the movers if there is anything you should pack such as personal items, sentimental things etc. While the movers will typically pack everything for you, you may want to handle some smaller items yourself (see below).

  • Questions

    Check on how to save a few dollars here and there. Remember, movers base prices on both the weight and cubic feet of your items. You can save a few dollars by moving some smaller items in your car.

  • Inspection

    Although you don’t need to be standing over the moving team’s shoulders, inspect each of your boxes and how it is handled before it reaches the moving truck.

  • Preparation

    In most cases, take the advice of your movers. Given they do this for a living, they are better prepared on packing and safely transporting items;

  • Timing

    While movers typically move more than one individual/family at a time (especially long distance moves), narrow down the delivery window at your new location.

Whether you are going across town or across the country, turning to a full-service move saves you the hassle of packing and transporting the majority of your possessions.
