Relocating to PA - Being a Pennsylvania New Resident

Whichever place you relocate to, you’ll want to follow the following steps to smoothly transition into becoming a resident.
If you have a license issued from another state in the US, you have 60 days to surrender it and get a Pennsylvania license. What does this entail?
- Going to your local PennDOT with the appropriate paperwork.
- Submitting yourself to a vision test
Within 20 days of becoming a resident, make sure to register your vehicle with PennDOT.
You will be asked to show car insurance upon registration, so bring it with you to the PennDOT. If you have out-of-state insurance unable to do business here, check out a Pennsylvania insurance agent.
Most vehicles in this state must go through an annual emissions inspection every year in order to legally drive.
