- Humid Continental - This is the weather tendency for the eastern two-thirds of Kansas. It means cool winters and. because much of the precipitation falls in the summer, the June through August months tend to be both hot and humid.
- Semi-Arid Steppe - The western part of the state, the other third, has this climate that tends to be much less humid than the eastern part. Summers are more arid, but very hot. Winters vary greatly, ranging between warm and very chilly.
- Humid Subtropical - At the far south of the state, the both south-central and southeastern specifically, you may find people having ice cream or slushies for lunch in the summers, which are both hot and humid. This area has by far the most precipitation, but does mean milder winters.

- DeFazio’s - This Italian restaurant in Wichita is a classic favorite featuring incredible pizza and surprisingly delicious pickled eggplant.
- Woodland Park - This spot in E. Lawrence was once home to a working, bustling amusement park. Now abandoned, visit this hauntingly beautiful spot to see ruins of rollercoasters and old artifacts from when it was running.
- Campbell Castle - Head to the Riverside part of Wichita for some incredible architecture; this is a stop you won’t regret!
